SurfControl Report Central is a Web-based reporting tool included with SurfControl Web Filter. The solution provides secure access to a comprehensive set of summary, trend and detailed reports through authenticated login and access control. Unlike competitive reporting tools that require administrators to manage all access to reports and data, SurfControl Report Central enables administrators to delegate access privileges to end users, and set policies regarding which information can be viewed and which reports can be run.
“For any multi-layered security strategy to be effective, a variety of people across the enterprise must have access to relevant and accurate information regarding Web usage,” said Jim Murphy, director of product marketing at SurfControl. “SurfControl Report Central provides enterprises with a powerful security knowledge layer to turn Web usage data into actionable information. This gives customers the advantage of early detection, rapid response and precision policy enforcement, and helps them regain control of their vital Internet systems.”
SurfControl Report Central serves as a single point of access to data via the solution’s three key components—SRC Threat Dashboard, SRC Report Manager and SRC Drill-down Manager.
-- SRC Threat Dashboard—gives designated managers instant access to key Web usage indicators in an easy-to-understand, graphical format. Business overview reports also provide a ranked summary of Web site categories visited, trend views with a user selectable time range and an at-a-glance view of top categories, network bandwidth utilization and company Website hits.
-- SRC Drill-down Manager—enables a more thorough analysis of specific Web usage information. This capability is critical for ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting forensic investigations to identify potential security threats or policy violations. Starting from a high level view, managers, can drill down through data based on user, groups, categories, protocols, sites and date, providing an unlimited number of potential reports.
-- SRC Report Manager—features more that 60 report templates. Reports can be created to cover all Web activity, or be customized to focus on specific criteria such as a user, group, specific time or date, or URL category. Graphical and tabular reports can be generated in any of the most popular file formats, and viewed via a secure Web interface, emailed directly to specified recipients or saved to a file depending on preferences.
